Causes of Bad Breath
If you enjoy a nice dinner out this summer at your favorite restaurant and enjoy some garlic bread in the beginning of your meal and end with a delicious cappuccino, you will most likely be looking for a mint at the end of the meal. The problem arises when you are dealing with continual bad breath and you aren’t sure of the cause. There are quite a few things that could be causing your bad breath:
- Poor Oral Hygiene – Be sure that you are brushing your teeth twice a day and using dental floss daily. Lingering food particles and bacteria in the mouth is one of the leading causes of bad breath. Another helpful tip is to be sure to brush your tongue each time you brush your teeth.
- Dry Mouth – One of the most common side effects from most medications is dry mouth. This is when there is a lack of saliva being produced in the mouth. Be sure to drink plenty of water to help with dry mouth symptoms.
- Gum Disease – When tartar buildup grows along the gumline it can lead to gum disease. Typically gum disease is not easily detected. One of the leading warning signs of gum disease is bad breath.
